  • ⅓ cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, canola)
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1½ tbsp cocoa powder
  • 12 oz dark cocoa candy melts
  • Sprinkles or nonpareils for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (check cake mix instructions).
  2. Combine cake mix, oil, milk/water, and eggs in a large bowl. Pour into greased baking pan and bake until toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces.
  4. Mix butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt, and milk until smooth; incorporate into crumbled cake.
  5. Roll mixture into balls (1¼-inch). Chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  6. Melt candy melts according to package instructions. Dip lollipop sticks in melted candy before inserting into each cake ball; chill again.
  7. Coat each pop in melted candy melts and decorate with sprinkles before the coating hardens.
