  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup jelly (your choice)
  • Additional peanut butter and powdered sugar for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in one bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat together peanut butter and softened butter until smooth. Gradually add sugar, then mix in eggs one at a time and finish with vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding the dry mixture and milk into the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  6. Allow cakes to cool before preparing the frosting by mixing peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  7. Assemble the cake by layering jelly and frosting between cake layers, then frost the top and sides.
