  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the cinnamon filling: 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • For the icing: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp milk, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry mixture until just combined; some lumps are okay.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan; add half the cinnamon filling on top. Add remaining batter and top with remaining filling; swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. While cooling, whisk together icing ingredients and drizzle over bread before serving.
